The right shock tower and inner fender
apron were removed as a single piece. (A cutoff wheel is more fun than a
spot weld cutter anyway.) Metal under the battery box was paper thin.
Welds attaching the rear of this shock
tower were cut in the same manner as the left side.
Everything was cleaned and primed.
The front sheet metal will be left in place to verify reference measurements
from the crossmember.
Note the original break line for the lower
tab. The shell on this side was stamped with the lower tabs at the wrong
angle. Fixing this required cutting 3/4" off of each flange and
reforming the tabs. This allowed the suspension mountings to be properly
placed but resulted in the shell being slightly low.

After the shock tower was secured in place,
the rest of the sheet metal was cut and drilled out.
All that is left is the front crossmember.
It was cut out in pieces with a sawzall. Remaining welds were chiseled and
ground down.
The remaining frame members were cleaned up
and primed.
After some trimming and adjustment,
everything is ready to weld in.
Inner fenders were plug welded to the
radiator support.
It's starting to look like a complete car
again.
