This farm has been in the Figgins family for about 150 years. The barn was constructed in 1968 and was built on the same site of an old log pen barn that was destroyed by the tornado in that same year. Roberta is an avid quilter; she learned the craft from her grandmother and W.O.'s mother, Mae Figgins, who was a great hand-quilter. The construction and mounting of the barn quilt was totally a family effort involving many of their relatives from around the county.
