St. Clairsville R/C Flyers Field Rules, Adopted 2009
1. Flying is restricted to current paid up members and their guests, provided that the latter have current AMA and applicable FCC licenses. The club member is responsible for his or her guests and must remain with him or her on the flight line while flying, except for contests and special events. Guests and visitors should not be left at the field alone.
2. Compliance with the current AMA Safety Code is mandatory, as is current AMA membership.
3. Your AMA card must be placed in the appropriate spot on the frequency board in order to operate R/C equipment. Flyers using equipment on 2.4 gHz must place their AMA card in the area so designated on the board. Use of frequency shall be limited to 15 minutes if others are waiting. Remove your card when finished flying.
4. When arriving or departing the field always check for aircraft in flight and grant them the right of way. When flying be aware of incoming or outgoing automobile traffic
5. Clear the runway after takeoff and fly from alongside the runway.
6. No taxiing in the pits. All hand launched airplanes or other airplanes which must take off directly into the wind should be launched from the edge of the runway. If wind direction dictates launching toward the pit side of the runway this should be done a safe distance to the left or right of the pits.
7. All high speed low passes are to be done over the far edge of the runway or beyond. Low is defined as less than 75 feet of altitude. All hovering is to be done at a safe distance from the pits and other pilots.
8. Extended engine running for break-in purposes shall be done away from the pits as a matter of courtesy.
9. Any pilot causing damage by turning on his transmitter without proper frequency control shall be financially responsible for all damage caused by this action.
10. All pet owners are solely responsible for their pet’s safety and any damage caused by the pet.
11. The field safety officer, or any full club member shall have the power to enforce these rules. If a simple, courteous warning does not alleviate the problem the safety officer or club member shall report the perceived offense to the club president and the incident will become club business to be discussed and acted upon by the board of directors. The decision of the board of directors in these matters shall be final.
