O Lord,
How canst thou love a sinner like me?
O my son,
My love is pure;
It knows no bounds.
I love the sinner
But hate the sin;
And how canst a Father
Love not his own son?
But how canst thou be patient
When sin so often enters my door
You are not the first
To stumble and fall,
Nor will you be the last.
Sin has been since Adam,
And continues
Throughout all eternity,
For there must be
Opposition in all things.
I sorrow at your sin,
But I have much hope for you;
And there is much
In store for you,
If you endure it well.
Therefore am I patient.
But my sins do continue the same;
It seems I do not learn.
How, then, canst thou forgive me,
When I cannot forgive myself?
When I cannot seem to overcome?
Truly you must endure,
But in enduring,
Do not endure sin.
Neither think about
The end result --
The perfect man --
But think about each day;
Think abouth each hour;
Think about each moment;
For sin is overcome
One moment at a time,
One sin at a time;
And I am here to help you.
Endure each moment
Into each hour,
Until hours become days,
And days become years.
Forgiveness of self
Does not come easy,
But is surely obtainable.
I will forgive whom
I will forgive,
But you must forgive all,
Including yourself.
Not forgiving self
Means not letting go
Of your sins.
The more you hold on,
The easier it is to return
To that which
You would not do.
To forgive
And not let go
Is to not forgive.
Be grateful
For each moment
That passes sin free.
The more you remember
To be grateful,
The easier it becomes
To pass from the hands of sin.
Cease to be grateful,
And sin easily returns.
O Lord, forgive me;
I have sinned.
Thou art forgiven;
Go thy way
And sin no more --
One moment at a time.
Remember to be grateful,
And joy will soon be thine;
And remember also,
I am here to help.
Peace be thine forever.
Thank you, Lord.
You're welcome, son.
