For every girl there is a boy
To bring her days of woes and joy
She may have dreamed of him in jest
She may not have met him yet
No not yet!
For every boy there is a girl
To make him comb his wavy curl
To make him stand so tall and straight
And walk with such a cocky gait
When they meet, this boy and girl
She'll turn her head in her shy whirl
He'll smile and say in his own way
He'd like to take her out someday
Their hearts are lost
In a game so fast
Their love so new
They think it's love true
Alas, so often this love
That's so new
Leads to woes so old
Well, we all know its code
They may ever be cheerful
But not always careful
And romance so fickle
Can lead to a pickle
But if real love abides
They will know it inside
To the Lord they will vow
True love here and now
They'll be man and wife
Her long gown in white
Then, in the quiet of the night
Their bodies become entangled tight
Soon may come a little girl
To turn her head in that shy whirl
Or maybe a boy who won't be so coy
In the game of girl meets boy
God is playing his sweet role
Watching over courting souls
God Bless them all
We pray they don't fall!
In the game of girls and boys
