God made a little bird
and sat him in a tree
the little bird sang a song
a song to God and Thee

God heard the song
But Thee did not
So the little bird he flew
right to the kitchen window
and tapped and tapped for you

Thee came and when he saw,
his song he did sing
his little song that said how sweet
of God to give us Thee

The little bird then flew away
back to the limb of the tree
The little bird that God made
with a song for God and Thee
