Dry Creek Longhorns

Thanks for dropping in to see the pictures of our herd members.  Although they aren't all show champions, we are quite proud of each and every one of them.  I will try to keep this page updated showing any of our new additions to the Dry Creek herd.  One trait we believe in more than any other is disposition.  We will not keep an animal on our property that cannot be worked by hand or will not stay in our pastures.  We believe in conformation and traditional Texas Longhorn appearance too.  We hope that this results in good-natured, correct cattle.  We work our cattle by hand every day, so they are used to human interaction, and the calves soon learn to trust people.  We show our cattle extensively and feel that this competition helps our herd as well as the breed as a whole.  Cattle with undesirable traits are then easily culled and the quality of our herd is maintained at a very high level.  This is something to remember when you are looking for purebred animals.
Because of the number of pictures loading on each page, we have broken up the herd into several categories.  That way you can go through each area without having to wait forever for the images to appear.  If you would like to see a larger version of the picture on each page, just click on it.  If the words in the text appear blue, then they are a link, and if you click on them they will take you to a picture too!

Heifers

This link will take you to see all of our special young ladies.  Many of these are currently on the show circuit, so you can learn more about any of them that you may have seen at a show. If you are curious as how they are placing, drop us an e-mail and we will keep you updated.

Cows

You can visit with our great producing mommas here.  We have quality cows with quite varied pedigrees.  We have picked them for their disposition, conformation, horn and color.  Drop in and see for yourself!
As always, if you have any questions or comments, drop us a line.

The Guys

Here is where we showcase the working guys in our pastures.  Come in and check out our new Herd Sire and our colorful steers that we have trained as riding and show steers.  These animals are really effective for promoting the breed.

The Salepen
