SPRING BELT TENSIONER
What is a spring belt tensioner ?
Most new GM cars have a spring loaded idler pulley that maintains the proper tension on the belt so no adjustment is needed as the belt wears. To replace your belt you simply insert a 3/8 drive ratchet or breaker bar into a hole in the tensioner and pull the arm to release the old belt or install the new belt. Once you release the arm the spring pulls the belt tight and your done.
What will a spring belt tensioner and bracket do for you ?
