Candidates Qualify For Primary

According to Registrar Norma Hodge, the following people have qualified as candidates in Upson County:

For Upson County Commission Chairman: Bill Maher, Ed Crews and Maurice Raines.
For Coroner: Tim Cochran.
For Sheriff: Don Peacock.
For District Two Upson County Commission: Claude Turner.
For Clerk of Court: Linda Hallman.

These persons qualified in Pike County for the Republican ballot in the july 15th general primary, as of Tuesday morning. Incumbent Carolyn Williams, Clerk of Superior Court. Incumbent Sheriff, Jimmy Thomas and for Sheriff, William Novin Darsey, Jr. and Albert Busbee.

For Pike County Commission District Three, incumbent Tommy Powers. For District Three challenger, Margie Trammell and on the Democratic ballot, Chris Curry for district three. For chief magistrate, incumbent Priscilla Killingsworth and challenger Steve Burge. For Pike County Commission Chairman: former chairman Doug Mangham. For Pike County Commissioner District Four, the seat held by Jake Garner, Danny Hubbard qualified.
