Samuel Hall's Log Home
Constructed ca 1808
The Samuel Hall house on the Emory River northeast of Wartburg. Built around 1808, the log house covered with clapboard was the first house in Morgan County, Tennessee. The Hall brothers, Samuel and Martin, may have been the first settlers in Morgan County, arriving ca 1807-1808.
The home is located on the property of Mr. Wendell Wade Maden. The photo is property of Charles Kreis and was scanned from page 6 of the Tennessee County History Series, "Morgan County" volume 65 by W. Calvin Dickinson; copyright 1987 by Memphis State University Press.
