In the name of God amen, I William Babb of
the county of Baldwin and State of Georgia, being of sound mind and memory
and considering the uncertainty of this frail and ____ ____ life, do therefore
make, ordain, publish and declare, this to be my Last Will and Testament;
That is to say first that after all my debts are paid, and discharged,
the residue of my estate ___ and personal, I give, bequeath, and dispose
of as follows to wit: To my Six children viz= Tillman, Lawrence, Sarah
Jane, Martha Ann, Virginia and Fannie Brookin
- the wife of Benjamin
Brookin - the Lot of Land on which I now reside containing two hundred
and Sixty Acres more or less, to be divided equally between them, share
and share alike to have and to hold during their natural lives, after their
deaths to heirs of their body respectively.
The Shares of my daughters Sarah Jane, Martha
Ann, and Virginia, to be adjoining each other and surveyed as to embrace
the dwelling and Surroundings. I also ordain that my beloved wife
remain on the said premises with my daughters Sarah Jane, Martha Ann and
Virginia to retain all my household and kitchen furniture, likewise all
my farming implements, my son Lawrence to have his portion of the land
where he now resides-
To my beloved wife I give all my perishable
property that my remaining after selling a sufficiency to pay all my lawful
debts; Also I give to her the lot of land that I own lying in North Georgia
containing forty acres, to dispose of as she deems proper.
Likewise I make, constitute and appoint
my wife to be Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking
all former wills made by me.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed
my name and affixed my seal the 28 day of June in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred seventy eight.

Babb in our presence to be his last Will and Testament and Signed in the
presence of each other and in the presence of the said testator of his
Special Request

Personally came before me Daniel B. Sanford,
Ordinary in and for said State and County in open Court at the the regular
August Term 1878 of said court J.W. Vinson one of the subscribing
Witnesses to William Babb's will who being duly sworn deposes and says
that he saw William Babb sign and publish the within and foregoing as his
last will and testament while of sound and disposing mind and memory that
he ___ witnessed the same for him together with Wm. M. Gray and S. J. Moran
at his ___ request in his presence and in the presence of each other, and
that the same was executed voluntarily by him on the day it purports to
have been executed!
