Compute-A-Crash Software

"Compute-A-Crash" is a DOS-based multi-module program which was originally designed to assist me in my own work... Students and others have applied enough pressure to have copies that I've begun to "clean it up" a little from its initial straight-BASIC interface and offer it as "freeware."

The zipped package which can be downloaded from this page contains some of the newer interface modules and some of the initial versions. All conversions to the newer, nicer format should be accomplished soon.... Check this page for future, free upgrades.

The software and its algorithms should be fairly obvious and familiar to trained technical accident investigators and reconstructionists. A mini-manual is supplied as are formula pages (in the newer modules). Caution is the word for any persons whom might not have appropriate reconstruction training... no computer is capable of interpreting evidence properly... the computer and software such as Compute-A-Crash can only assist and refine a reconstructionist's work.

Download, explore, and enjoy.... the software has my phone number in several locations to enable a user to make contact with any questions. The package includes setup modules for both Windows and DOS users (WINsetup.exe and DOSsetup.exe).

COMPUTE-A-CRASH VER3

The new version of Compute-A-Crash is in development. This version will be completely Windows based and has a multitude of modern and advanced options including "wysiwyg" printed out equations, a ranging slide for variables to enable sensitivity analyses, equation cites and complete, printable pages. We hope that the new version will become available in the beginning of 2004. Check again!
