Mobile Command Unit and Available Equipment

Mobile Command Unit QRS Certified Elkland Building and Equipment

The Mobile Command Unit (M.C.U.) Is equipped with a 350 fuel-injected engine. The alternator was replaced with a 200 amp continuous duty unit, to provide constant power to the 2Kw 12V-120V onboard power inverter that is backed by twin deep cell marine batteries. Heat to the unit is supplied by a 30,000 BTU RV propane heater with an exterior enclosed shelter, which is used for R & R for the team. Also there is a 85,000 BTU propane high output heater.

Mapping is handled at the Assistant Commanders table with 1:24,000 maps. The maps cover all of Elk County and the surrounding counties. Computer generated maps are available here for all Pennsylvania . Lastly, D.C.N.R. and U.S. Forestry trail maps in the Elk County area are available here.

The Commander's Desk is where the county and state resources are on file. Also available here are hazmat manuals and area telephone books to find that special resource that might be needed in the field. All search forms are also available here.
