PENNSYLVANIA MORTISED BENCH.  With its fancy cutout legs, this is a classic early Pennsylvania German country bench form, circa 1840. This one spent nearly two centuries on the farmhouse porch, and exhibits a nicely worn blue painted surface softened by weather and time. 67” long x 12 Ύ” deep x 18 Ό” high.

NYS MUSTARD PAINT GRAINED BENCH.  A fairly lightweight 4-board country bench circa third quarter of 1800s, in good original mustard grain paint. The sides have nicely cutout feet.  46 1/4“ long x 8 Ό” x 14 ½” high.

EARLY COUNTRY PLANK BENCH.  Of New England origin, this early sturdy bench of white pine comes in a cinnamon brown paint, over original teal blue.  Scrub top, square nail construction. 37” long x 10 Ύ” x 16” high.

SET OF SIX PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED PLANK CHAIRS.  Central PA, circa 1860,  half-spindle style, plank seats and retaining their original, very fine hand painted floral rose decoration on chocolate ground. Very good original condition throughout.  Each about 16 ½” wide x 32” high x 17 ½” total depth.

CHILD’S COUNTRY ROCKER. Rural Pennsylvania origin, an early handmade country rocker for a child circa 1830. Original hand-riven splint seat and strong old green paint with great dry surface and wear.  22 ½” high 14” wide  23” tip to tip.

EARLY AMERICAN QUEEN ANNE SIDE CHAIR.  In old black paint over red paint, nicely shaped back and lines, old woven rush seat. New England, circa 1760.

SET OF SIX ORIGINAL DECORATED CHAIRS, SIGNED BY MAKER. Painted in a base coat of hard-to-find salmon-orange and accented by yellow and black, this set of Pennsylvania plank bottom chairs are in excellent freehand painted decoration, depicting peaches and buds with nice contrasting striping and piping.  On the bottom of each chair is the stenciled mark: “J. B. Boyd’s Chair Factory  22 Sth 2nd St  Harrisburg, PA”.  Max width 17 ½” x 31 ½” high x 17” seat height (approx). Mid-19th Century.

CARVED ROPE BED. Early 19th century rope bed, cherry and poplar woods, in original cherry stain and nice attic-surface varnish. The two headboard posts each with hand-carved acanthus and floral motif.  Fitted with custom metal braces to accommodate custom box spring and modern mattress (not included). Max height, to top of headboard, 59 ½" x 54” max width x 78 ½" total length. Height to top of bedrail is 17 ”.
