NEW YORK STATE SCREENED
PIE SAFE. These small country pie
safes with high, wonderfully turned legs come up on rare occasion in the central
NY State area, and tradition states that they were made in Eaton, NY from about
the 1850s to the 1870s. This is one
very fine example of an Eaton, NY pie safe, in strong original sky blue paint,
original removable adjustable shelves, and with replaced screening, ready to go.
Softwood, maple, square nail construction. It is becoming extremely hard
to find these regional pieces of furniture, let alone one in as good of
condition as this one. 31” wide x
16” deep x 44 ½” high.
