Homeward Spirit Home Educators DECEMBER Events

Elementary Craft Day

Where: Central Community Church located on Chatsworth Highway, across from Tractor Supply in Murray County.

When: December 1st starting at 10:30a.m.

We will be making ornaments to take to the residents at Morningside Assisted Living. A snack and drinks will be provided.

I know this is going out a little late but if you can RSVP by Friday, November 28th that would be great. Theresa & Breann Campbell are the coordinators for this field trip. You can RSVP to Kim Deviese at deviese@windstream.net and I will make sure that Theresa and Breann get your RSVP.

Morningside Assisted Living Christmas cheer field trip

Where: Morningside Assisted Living at 2470 Dug Gap Road, Dalton, GA, 30720

When: December 5th starting at 10:00a.m.

We will be caroling and handing out the ornaments that were made on December 1st. In previous years the youth would get together and bake cookies to take along with the ornaments. However, because everyone is so busy we will not be able to do it this year. We are asking that families bring 3 or more small Ziploc bags with maybe 3 to 5 cookies in each one. The cookies can be store bought or homemade. Don't miss this fun and meaningful service project.

Directions: Take Dug Gap Road. Morningside will be on your right a few miles down Dug Gap Road.

Parents Meeting

Please note that the Parent’s Meeting has been moved to Applebee’s.

Monday, December 8, 2008 at 6:00pm    Applebee’s

In Dalton off Walnut Avenue, near I-75

Marvin Sowder will be our guest speaker once again. Marvin is a local historian.  He has held the position of President of the Historical Society and has led many expeditions finding local grave cites. If you attend only one meeting this year this is the one you want to attend. This meeting is for the whole family. If you have upper elementary to high school students that love history they will be captivated by Marvin's stories. We hope to have lots of families at this meeting to show Marvin how much we appreciate the time he puts into finding the information for us and our area. Come join us for a night of facts and fun.

Please send in your HSHE Directory updates if you have not already done so.

ourselves from making hasty moves; and finally, we learn from chess the greatest maxim in life - that even when everything seems to be going
badly for us we should not lose heart, but always hoping for a change for the better, steadfastly continue searching for the solutions to our
problems."
