Major John Loudermilk
       Chapter # 264
   Military Order of the

     Stars and Bars
"The Military Order of the Stars and Bars" held it's first meeting on
August 30, 1938. The idea for the organization came from a group of surviving Confederate officers who met in Columbia, South Carolina.
The organization was known then as the "Order of the Stars and Bars". There were seventeen former Confederate officers and forty-seven male descendants of Confederate officers in attendance at the first meeting.

Our organization is still comprised of male descendants of the civil officials and the officer corps of the Confederate States of America.
