The purpose of United Methodist Women reads “The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”  Grace United Methodist women work toward those goals.

            The Grace UMW general meetings are  held four times a year. There is a time for devotions and a program along with a business meeting and mission moments. The women support the UMW conference mission program, support our own Grace UMC projects, do funeral dinners as a caring service and do dinners as money makers. An added financial aid is the bazaar and bake sale in November. Our unit has received several conference awards for our participation in the reading program, being a 5 star mission unit and doing the mission study.    There are other activities for the non-business months of the year.  We sponsor a birthday party at Wesbury in June. There is a picnic in August at a member’s home. 

            All women are welcome. One does not have to be affiliated with Grace Church to be a member of GUMW.
