Welcome to Waldo Community School and 4th Grade!

    email me powelldm@gm.sbac.edu

·     Open House is Thursday, September 1st  from 6:00 – 7:30pm. I look forward to meeting you!

·     There is a new dress code in effect. All students are required to wear “Waldo Wear.”

Waldo Wear consists of the following:

            - Shirts must be navy blue or white polos.

- Bottoms must be navy blue or khaki. Bottoms include, long

pants, cropped pants, shorts (must come to mid-thigh),

  skorts or jumpers.

- Wednesday will be “Warrior Wednesdays” and the students

may wear a school T-shirt and plain denim bottoms.

- Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel (NO flip flops,

   sandels, or crocs)

·     School Supplies: students will be expected to supply their own pencils and notebook paper (wide rule). Other optional supplies are: crayons, highlighter, ruler, scissors.

·     Students will have an agenda again this year. Students are expected to copy homework and class work assignments into the agenda. Students will be changing classes for math and science and will need to make sure they copy assignments from each class. Agendas should be checked and signed by a parent/guardian every night. Agendas will also be used as a communication tool between teacher and parent.

·     This year 4th and 5th graders will also have a “Boomerang” folder that will go home each day. There are four pockets in this folder: Homework, Things to stay at home (graded work, informational notes), For Parents (notes from teacher, Friday reports, permission slips, report cards/interim reports, etc.), For Teacher (notes from parents, signed Friday reports, report cards & permission slips, etc.).

·     Students will be expected to have their Agendas and Boomerang folders every day.

·     Each Monday I will send home the “Owl News” that will let you know what the planned assignments for the week will be as well as any class news. On Fridays, students will receive a “Friday report” that will show their current grades and any missing assignments. Missing assignments are due first thing Monday morning.
