In addition to the reading,
students also practice their reading skills in small groups. Each group meets
two to four times a week with me, to read and discuss their book, work on
comprehension skills and decoding strategies. When students are not meeting
with their group (or with me individually) they will be working in Literacy
Work Stations which compliment our reading/language
curriculum.
Literacy Work Stations – students will work in 2 – 3 each day.
1.
Reading Work Station – students may read to self, buddy read or re-read the
day’s reading.
2.
Fluency Work Station – students work on fluency skills.
3.
Word Study – students work on spelling or vocabulary activities.
4. Reading Work Station – work on journal and foldable
activities for the current book.
