Activities for Spelling Homework

Choose 4 activities to do for spelling homework from the list below. You should do 1 each night, Monday through Thursday. Turn all completed activities in on Friday Morning. This will count as a spelling/language grade.

Grades for Spelling Activities will be:

4 activities completed correctly and neatly = 100

3 activities completed correctly and neatly = 80

2 activities completed correctly and neatly = 70

1 activity completed correctly and neatly = 60

0 activities completed correctly and neatly = 0

1. Write your words 5 times each in pencil.

2. Write your words 3 times each: once in pencil, once in pen, and once in crayon or marker.

3. Write each word as a word triangle b

4. Write a super sentence for each word. Circle the spelling words.

Note: You many use more than 1 spelling word in a sentence but you must write at least 5 sentences.

5. Write your spelling words in ABC order.

6. Write each spelling word across and down using the same beginning letter.

7. Cut out letters from magazines or newspapers. Glue the letters to paper to spell each spelling word.

8. Sort your words according to the pattern or anyway you choose. Find at least 8 more words and add them to your sort. (Total words = at least 23)

9. Draw a picture for each word. Pictures must show or describe the word. Label as needed.

10. Write a poem or story using at least 10 of your spelling words.
