AUGUST 2011 CONTESTS FOR CW OPERATORS

With the ever-increasing number of new contests and sprints plus the constant change in links and data by contest organizers, it has become almost a full-time job trying to maintain a complete and accurate calendar. Therefore since I don't have that much time, I'm only listing what I consider to be the major contests and sprints as well as some of my personal favorites.

If you want a more complete calendar, there is an excellent one that is constantly updated and sorts contests by many different criteria including CW and QRP. I refer you to Bruce WA7BNM. From the looks of this wonderful calendar, Bruce must be able to dedicate nearly 24/7 to keeping it updated and accurate.

     ACCURACY RATING

+++++ The rules mention a specific date and year.

++++= The rules do not mention a year, but I'm almost
certain the dates are accurate.

+++== The rules say something like the 3rd Saturday
of a month, but no specific year is mentioned.

++=== The rules say something like a 3rd weekend
which can be ambiguous when a month starts on a Sunday.

+==== Current posted rules are old, and I am pretty much
just guessing at the dates. The contest may not even exist
any longer.
