“Catlettsburg Mariner’s Compass Quilt Block”

Designed to pay homage to the rich history of Catlettsburg as a river port and to honor the men and women who worked on the river. Catlettsburg is located at the confluence of the Big Sandy and Ohio Rivers.  The golden quilt needle was used in the center to honor the quilters of Boyd County. Volunteers that worked with McKinney were Rose Branham, Wilma Cordell, Catlettsburg Mayor Roger and Glorious Hensley, Marti Knipp, and Nancy K. Osborne.
