Angela Jones and Chris May made this block to honor their grandmother, Mary Helen Slone, on her 80th birthday.

  Mrs. Slone was quilting the "Ocean Wave" quilt with her mother on the day that John. F. Kennedy died.

The quilt was pieced by Mrs. Slone's grandmother.
