in Africa]was purchased by Traugotte Bagge for the Moravian Church from
Alexander Hawkins of Surry Co., NC for 100 pounds to work in the tavern in
Salem, NC. Jacob was sold in 1779 to
Robert Lanier, state Assemblyman by the Moravians. Jacob shows on the estate
