North Georgia ARC W4QQ Class 3A GA for Field Day 2001 . Operators: Neal K4EA, Johnny K4TW, Buck KC4GCK, Lawson
AE4GQ, Duane K4PTT, Bob K4SZ and Jim W4KXY Visitors and SetUP: Russ W4YKF, Larry N4RPH, Don KG4KZA, Jeff KG4KYZ, Jason KG4DGN, Jim KF4ATF and Mac KJ4P. Thanks to all who came to help set-up, take down and operate. We hope everyone had a good time. Results: QSO's: 804 CW, 42 PSK31, 289 Thanks so much to Johnny and Neal for the big numbers on CW. When they are operating it's like shooting fish in a barrel as they say. Last year we only had 5 CW Q's. Sure makes a lot of difference since CW Q's are two pointers!! 73 Bob K4SZ |

Much fun was had by all including visitors as well
as the participating operators. The setting up process was a hot and
sweaty job, but no one seemed to mind that. All hands turned to and
set up antennas, tents, tarpaulins, tables, radio equipment, and generators
in short order. It was a pretty impressive operation. I am confident
that if the club were called on to provide emergency communications
for the Red Cross, these guys would get the job done. |

| K4SZ supplied this interesting
item:
"KF4PUA, J.J. worked Susan Helms aboard the International Space Station on Friday July 20. It was a 2m FM Voice contact. You'll have to bring the QSL card for this one to a meeting to show us sometime, J.J. Congratulations on the contact." 73 Bob |
There has been some discussion about meeting every month instead of every other month. I enjoy the eyeball QSO's at El Mague's and think it would be a good idea meet every month for that reason even if we don't have that much business to conduct. What do you think? See you at the meeting on August 6. Dues ($25) can be given to Ryan at the meeting. 73, Russ |
