My Ham Shack

I have a Yaesu FT-847 All Mode Transceiver and an MFJ  969 Versa Tuner II in my little radio/computer room. There is also an MFJ Electronic Keyer/Bencher Paddle Combo on the desk. I use a  Radio Shack 33-3030 Omni Directional Microphone with the 847. It seems to work very well on HF SSB and VHF FM.
Dawn and I both have Yaesu FT100D ALL MODE Transceivers in our vehicles.

Outside we have a home brew G5RV Plus style antenna up at about 40 ft, an Antron 99 which is about 20 ft above the ground. A home built Moxon Rectangle at 20 ft up is our 6 Meter antenna. It's basically a 2 element yagi beam and it works very well for a small investment in pvc pipe and wire.

We both enjoy casual contesting just to keep ourselves up to par and improve our operating skills. We love to get on the air and kinda compete with one another, and try to top our personal bests.
We also participate in  SKYWARN and report storm information to the National Weather Service during severe weather events.
