earthquake. With sadness, we report the passing of two United Methodists, whose
families we lift up in prayer.
Sam Dixon
The Rev. Sam Dixon, top executive of UMCOR, died of injuries received after
being buried in the rubble of a collapsed hotel following the earthquake.

A member of a Dallas UMC mission team providing eye care to Haitians died of
injuries suffered in the earthquake.
