AIRHOGS why NOT to buy them.

In December of 2006', my wife and I went Christmas shopping to buy my daughter and "AIRHOG helicopter". Unfortunately nobody seemed to have these in stock? So we opted to buy her the AIRHOG RUSH, which is an airplane. Needless to say at 10 years old, she was extremely excited to get this present. Living in a part of the country, where it snows between November and April she had to wait. On April 1st of 2007', we went outside and it was 74 dgrees, clear, sunny and unseasonably nice out! Once again she asked can we fly the plane?
(Continued below)

We took it out of the box, and read the instrucions.
We put brand new batteries in the controller/charger.
We placed the top wing on the plane securely, until the snap was heard.
We charged it for 2 minutes, followed by another 2 minutes +, to make sure it was sufficiently charged.

We then went outside to try it out. Facing into a light breeze we launched it, and into the ground she went.
Second attempt, launched went 10 feet and into the ground again.
Third attempt with the same result.
I went inside hopped on the internet, to look at their troubleshooting tips. I reviewed everything, and we charged the plane up again to make sure that was not the issue.

We went out once again, and re-attempted the flight multiple times without success. The last attempt resulted, in the planes inability to be turned off. The on/off switch made no difference.

In a nutshell, it never flew and ended up broke. I supervised the entire situation to avoid such an event. That however was futile.

I went online, and found there was no contact link at the AIRHOGS website. However, I did find out that the company that markets/selss them is the company "SPIN MASTER". I emailed the Spin Master on Monday April 2nd, 2007. After the email was sent, a screen that said, please allow 24 hours for a reply came up. Today on April 7th, 2007. I have recieved no reply of any type from this company. I think it is ashame, a company sells something that does not work. In addition, they claim to get back to you a customer in about 24 hours. After an entire work week, there is no reply?

I myself will never spend the money on one of these toys again. I will NOT buy anything from this company again. Instead, I will opt to go buy a plane from a reputable hobby shop. Hopefully my daughter will not be disappointed, and I will have not throw $29 out the window........literally.
