CHAPTER ONE THE EARLY BEGINNINGS OF EAST LINCOLN LODGE NO. 210 Operative Masonry existed for several centuries prior to its gradual emergence into Speculative Masonry with its formal organization in London, England in the year 1717. Masonry was well established in our United States long before we became and independent nation. The first Masonic Lodge in Nebraska was chartered October 3, 1855, at Bellevue, Nebraska as Nebraska Lodge No. 1, which later moved to Omaha, nebraska. In 1857, our Nebraska Grand Lodge of Freemasonry was chartered ten years before Nebraska became a state. All our Nebraska Masonic Lodges are given a number in the chronological order in which they received their charters from the Nebraska Grand Lodge. East Lincoln Lodge was the 210th lodge to receive its charter.
