Character Information

Listed below are the regular characters in the series. For information on the voice actors (seiyuu) that play each part, look on the seiyuu page.

A picture of Shao Shugogetten Shaorin (ŽįŒėŒŽ“VƒVƒƒƒIƒŠƒ“). Her friends call her Shao. She is a spirit of the Moon, and she is destined to protect Tasuke. She has a ring called a "shitenrin" (Žx“V—Ö) used to bring forth "star spirits" called hoshigami (Ŋ_) to help her. She falls in love with Tasuke when she first meets him, but she's too shy to tell him. Shao always calls him "Tasuke-sama" (‘ū•—l). In order to be close to Tasuke to protect him, she comes to his school as a transfer student. Since Shao is from China, the characters for her name are Chinese, not Japanese, and one of them doesn't display properly in Japanese characters. A picture of Tasuke Shichiri Tasuke (Žĩ—œ‘ū•) lives alone. His famly travels a lot. His father's name is Tarousuke (‘ū˜Y•) and he was the person who sent Shao's and Ruuan's magical items to Tasuke.
Tasuke is very shy and he's easily embarrassed by the attention he gets from Shao and Ruuan. He fell in love with Shao at first sight but he's too shy to tell her.
A picture of Ruuan Keikounitten Ruuan (ŒcK“ú“Vƒ‹[ƒAƒ“) is a spirit of the sun. She was introduced in episode 2. Ruuan comes forth from a staff that Tasuke's father sends him. Ruuan's destiny is to make Tasuke happy, and she lavishes him with attention. Tasuke is usually embarassed by Ruuan's attentions. She hugs his arm and rubs against his shoulder and calls him "Taa-sama" (‚―‚Ÿ—l).
She has the magical ability to bring inanimate objects to life. In order to be closer to Tasuke, she impersonates a teacher in his school. A picture of Shouko Yamanobe Shouko (ŽR–ė•ÓãĎq) also goes to Tasuke's school. She's a tomboy, and a lot of students think she's a troublemaker, but Tasuke doesn't believe she's really a bad person at heart.

A picture of Izumo Miyauchi Izumo (‹{“āo‰_) is a priest at his family's shrine. He's 20 years old and quite a smooth character. He falls in love (or maybe it's lust?) with Shao and he's always coming on to her very strongly.
A picture of Kaori Aihara Kaori (ˆĪŒī‰ÔD) is an underclass student at Tasuke's school. She was introduced in episode 12.

Shao's helpers (Hoshigami)

With her shitenrin (Žx“V—Ö), Shao can call forth other characters called "hoshigami" (Ŋ_)to help her protect Tasuke-sama:

A picture of Rishu Rishu (—ĢŽė) travels around with Tasuke and keeps watch over him in case he gets into danger. Rishu doesn't really speak out loud, but she can communicate with Shao telepathically.
When she wants to say something to Tasuke, she draws little cartoons. She has a cute way of speaking. She says "deshi" (‚Å‚ĩ) instead of "desu" (‚Å‚·) and calls Tasuke "Tasuke-shama" (‘ū•‚ĩ‚á‚Ü). The characters on the front of her outfit are "denshin (“`S)" which means, roughly, "telepathy".
