New Vine Baptist Church was organized in August 1874 by 11 members from the following churches: 6 from First Baptist- Lexington, 3 from Pleasant Green-Lexington, 1 from Main Street- Lexington, and 1 from First Baptist-Versailles. In 1875 Mr. Henry Worley presented the community a sufficient amount of land to erect a church building and cemetery. In 1962 the second and current church building was erected under the leadership of the late Rev. James D. Jackson, Sr. There have been 19 ministers to serve as pastor of New Vine Baptist Church. Rev. Stewart T. Peoples was called to pastor New Vine August 26, 2001. Under the leadership of Rev. Peoples, new classes and ministries have been formed, a major church renovation project was launched and souls have been saved. Truly God's grace abounds New Vine and we can thank the saints, which have gone on before us for the great sacrifices they made, making us who we are today. New Vine Baptist Church continues to witness a glorious and blessed history for the old and young to share.
What We Believe
We are a saved, baptized membership. "Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God". (John 3:3) We were planted on August 25, 1874 in Fort Springs, Ky. by eleven praying members from four local Baptist churches and we have a rich history. The late Rev. J.D. Jackson, Sr. faithfully pastored here for 39 years. Pastor Peoples is now our 19th pastor and God continues to do great things.
"Live the Life"
Our vision is to live and share the abundant life through Jesus Christ.
To realize our vision by knowing Christ, growing in Christ, serving Christ, and sharing Christ.
