MISSISSIPPI CHAPTER

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

ARTICLE I – NAME AND TERRITORY

SECTION 1: The official name of this organization shall be the "Telephone Pioneer Family Campers – Mississippi Chapter." Herein referred to as Mississippi Telephone Family Campers."

SECTION 2: The territory of "Mississippi Telephone Family Campers" shall be the state of Mississippi.

ARTICLE II – PURPOSE

The purpose of this non-profit organization shall be:

"To provide year-round opportunities for employees of the telephone industry, both active and retired, to foster and enjoy good fellowship and pleasure of camping, whether by themselves or at scheduled club activities. To set an example of courtesy on the highway and a model of conduct at meeting sites and at campgrounds. To encourage the growth of camping facilities, to study, advise and support all acts that perpetuate camping and that are in the interests of the camping public."

ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP

SECTION 1: Membership shall be open to active and retired employees of the Telephone Industry.

SECTION 2: Associate membership in this club may be granted to a deceased member’s spouse.

ARTICLE IV – OFFICERS

SECTION 1: The elected officers of this club shall consist of the following:

Wagon Master – President

Chief Scout – 1st Vice President

Chief Look-Out – 2nd Vice President

SECTION 2: The officers shall be elected by the membership present at the Annual Pioneer General Assembly meeting and shall hold office until their respective successors have been duly elected and installed. Term of office shall be one year.

SECTION 3: The secretaries shall be appointed by their appropriate officer and perform the duties normally pertaining to their office. The secretary of the Wagon Master shall be the financial officer.

SECTION 4: If any vacancy occurs during the year in any one or more of the offices provided in these by-laws, the Board of Directors shall appoint a successor who shall hold office for the unexpired term.

ARTICLE V – RESPONSIBILITIES OF OFFICERS

SECTION 1: The Wagon Master shall preside at all meetings and enforce the constitution and by-laws, appoint any committees as may be required, and have such powers and duties as normally pertain to the principle office holder.

SECTION 2: The Chief Scout shall assist the Wagon Master and be responsible for obtaining all host and coordinating all camp-outs for the current year.

SECTION 3: The Chief Look-out shall be responsible for obtaining host and coordinating all camp-outs for the second year.

ARTICLE VI – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors consisting of the Wagon Master, immediate past Wagon Master, Chief Scout, Chief Look-out and one member appointed by the Wagon Master shall be the governing body of this club.

ARTICLE VII – MEETINGS

The proposed schedule of activities, for the next year, shall be presented at the annual meeting in May by the Chief Scout.

ARTICLE VIII

This constitution and by-laws may be amended by a majority vote of the membership present at the annual meeting at the time of the Pioneer General Assembly. The intention to amend the by-laws must have previously been co
