John V. Lonero grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from the Cleveland Institute of Art, he worked as a muralist, sculptor, and painter. When financial-reality set in, he became an illustrator, art director, and designer, in Cleveland advertising agencies, then moved his advertising career to Madison Avenue and lived in East Hampton, N.Y. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Art Education, taught in public schools, also at the college level, and was invited to speak at conferences here and abroad. He recently lectured at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts.

His publications include short stories, national magazine articles on art education, and “How-to” art packages with work books. His next book THE LOGIC OF ART is still a thought in progress. He paints, sculpts and operates a throttled-back art studio in a veritable paradise in the foothills of North Carolina with his wife, Hedy, also an active artist, and their very smart, beautiful dogs, Blackie and Chloe.
