Confederate Soldiers from Shelby County, Alabama 
 
 
Almost 3,000 men from the Shelby County area served in the Confederate
Army. Many volunteered in 1861 while others were conscripted after
April 1862. Some were heroes, some were deserters, and many were common
soldiers who performed their duty. The purpose of this Web Site is to
provide information about Confederate soldiers from the Shelby County
area.
