Mission
Provide a distribution channel for marketing crafts from church and mission projects around the world for the purpose of supporting international families studying at Asbury Theological Seminary, Asbury College, or other recognized Christian Evangelical Schools. This can be accomplished through retail store and Internet craft sales as well as possible grants/scholarships. The primary location is Wilmore Kentucky.
Advance the word of Jesus Christ through the sale of mission and church crafts. This is done through the crafts or through materials that accompany the goods that "tell the story".
Provide a market for church and mission projects around the world in order to build economic stability and to assist the livelihood of Christian brothers and sisters. Many church and mission organizations have no outlet for such products. Providing such an outlet assists various church and mission organizations.
Provide in store practical business training to develop skills of international Seminary and College students or their spouses which can be utilized by them when they return to their home countries.
Provide Christian fellowship and teaching of arts and crafts to internationals. This is intended to be an opportunity to share Christ and develop practical skills that can be used to support their families.

How it all started!
Mike and Teresa Rynkiewich served as missionaries in Papua New Guinea from 1997-2002, with their three children. Upon returning in 2002 they prayed about how they could continue in ministry with the international community. After settling in Wilmore, where Mike teaches at Asbury Seminary, Teresa felt a calling to develop the vision of providing an outlet where craftsmen could sell their goods. On March 15, 2003, Teresa's vision led to the opening of Tess' International Handicraft Shop--a place where people can come and find crafts from around the world.
We strive to empower local Christian communities by providing a marketplace for their crafts. Tess' International Handicraft Shop, Inc. works with the international communities at Asbury Seminary and Asbury College by purchasing their crafts and telling their stories. In addition, the store's mission is to partner with Christian artisans and missionaries around the world to support their ministry. Teresa Rynkiewich, Executive Director, continues to be involved in global missions as she works to help provide economic stability for people with needs around the world.
Please join in this global vision to "tell the story and empower artisans around the world."
