The Master's Casters June tournament event for 2009 was held at Cherokee on 6-19-09 with club member Gary Day becoming the first two time winner of the season. Gary and his guest Terry Roberts bested the field with a 10 bass limit all caught on jigs that tipped the scales at 23.78 pounds to claim the victory. Gary was also a winner as he and partner Eddie Wells won the March tournament held on Norris. Tracy Goff and Jody Hunt weighed 8 bass at 19.58 pounds to take second and finishing in thrid was Philip Little and Mike Maggard with an 18.98 pound bag. Jason Rose claimed the big bass prize with a 4.04 pound largemouth.
With his bag of 14.07 pounds Gary established a comfortable lead in the Angler of the Year Standings. Currently Gary stands in first place with 26.03 pounds followed by Tracy Goff with 18.42 pounds and Danny Mullins with 15.12 pounds.
The next event will be held at Douglas and will blast off from Dandridge Bridge at 8:45 pm on 7-17-09.
