Club members Gary Day and Eddie Wells found a pattern that worked well during the first fall cold front of the year to easily out distance the field to claim the team win for the 2009 Master's Casters "Classic" held at Douglas Lake on 10-17-09. Gary and Eddie bagged an impressive 10 bass limit weighing 21.17 pounds for the victory. Gary's weight of 10.76 pounds was just enough to earn him the individual "Classic" title by a narrow margin over his partner Eddie's 10.42 pound bag. Eddie claimed the "Classic" big bass prize with a lunker 6.41 pound largemouth taken on a black & blue craw.
Finishing in second was the team of Monty Hall and Tony Collins with 6.02 pounds and the team of Danny Mullins and Jeff Seals finished in third with 5.95 pounds.
Gary's bag also was enough to propel him to a wide margin of victory in the 2009 Angler of the Year race. His bag turned what was close race into a run away victory. Rounding out the top five in the final standings were Tracy Goff with 34.86 pounds, Eddie Wells with 29.98 pounds, Danny Mullins with 25.40 pounds, and Eugene Mullins with 23.89 pounds. Congratulations to Gary for a strong finish to a very successful season!
