Janet Bird, LCHS Education Coordinator will present a program about vintage hats. Guests will be able to view a number of hats from the LCHS collection and will have the rare opportunity to see many wonderful and unique hats from local private collections. Enhance the ambience of our afternoon tea by wearing one of your favorite hats! Following the program enjoy our refreshing hot tea, savory tea sandwiches, scones, and a delicious assortment of sweet treats. Wedding Exhibit September, 2009 - February, 2010 at The Hickories From September 2009 through February 2010, The Lorain County Historical Society will be presenting the exhibit "To Have and To Hold." Designed by our summer intern, Laura Laubenthal, this exhibit features wedding gowns, photographs, and memorabilia from two centuries of marriages in Lorain County. At this exhibit you will see how wedding dresses have varied in color and style, how ornate and simple marriage certificates can be, and how brides wrote their own wedding invitations. The Society is open for tours from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
