The White Tail Deer is found almost every in the Ozarks.
This guy just walked across the road in front of me one day.

American White Pelicans visit the lakes all over the Ozarks.
They are usually attracted to lakes with large shad populations. White Pelicans
are very shy and it is extremely hard to get within 100 yards of one.
The quality of this photo lacks because it was taken using an old 400mm/35mm lens,
600mm equivalant, on a 10mp digital camera under poor lighting conditions, then
cropped back even more.

This is another of those photos that could have been.
It was taken through two panes of glass and a fine screen out of my bedroom window.
The Pileated Woodpecker is the largest woodpecker in the world and very rarely seen.

These two Canadian Geese appear to be alone at first glance, but if you look closely
between them you can make out three chicks, almost perfectly camouflaged into the grass.

This racoon has been eating my cats left over food for several years.
On this evening he is in a tree not five feet from my raised deck, on the
wooded side of the house. He had the full attention of three of my cats.
